Highland Island

Morning gave us a connection with a like-minded family, with a girl McKinley’s age, and her brother and extraordinary parents. We got along so well, they invited us out to the island cottage they were staying in for the week. It was just a taste, but like setting a sliver of the finest chocolate on the tip of your tongue, the wild coastal landscape of the Scottish Highlands was nearly too stunning to take in at once. At the end of the day, blithely cooking pasta together in the kitchen, feeling as if we were fast old friends, we wondered what journey we’d take together next…
